Position on Tail Docking

The original purpose for tail docking, no longer exists.  Therefore, the process of tail docking is for aesthetic purposes, only.

From a scientific research perspective, a dog with a natural tail, has a lower incidence of Hip Dysplasia,  increased agility and balance.  If you consider that a docked dog, wags their backend, applying pressure to their hips...where an undocked dog, wags their tail applying less stress and pressure to their hips.

The originating country, Germany's Kennel Club (ADRK), banned Tail Docking, Ear Cropping & Front Dew Claw, removal, in June of 1998. 

In Canada, the East & West Coast, either the Province and/or the Provinvcial Veterinary Association has banned tail docking.  As has, Alberta, Manitoba & Quebec.
